How are hemp and marijuana different?

Hemp and marijuana are two different varieties of Cannabis, a plant that has been widespread throughout the world since ancient times.

Industrial hemp is grown for its fiber, has almost undetectable THC levels and higher CBD levels. Hemp has been cultivated worldwide for thousands of years for industrial and medical purposes, making useful items such as rope, clothing, candles, paper, and thousands of other products.

THC is a piscotropic cannabinoid and is most often associated with the recreational use part of cannabis sativa. But many of our association members and third-party testimonials assure us that THC helps a lot in controllable doses and that it even feels like THC enhances the effect of CBD. As if it were a CBD catalyst.

Is it legal to plant hemp in Spain?

Yes, hemp cultivation is perfectly legal in Spain. In our country there is Law 17/1967, of April 8, by which the current regulations on narcotic drugs are updated and adapted to the provisions of the 1961 Convention of the United Nations. In its Chapter 3, article 9, this law says that “the previous precepts shall not apply to the cultivation of the plant of ‘cannabis’ destined for industrial purposes, provided that it lacks the active ingredient narcotic.”

Ultimately, the standard says that the authorized cultivation of narcotic substances can only be carried out by the pharmaceutical industry, emphasizing that the varieties of industrial hemp do not fall into this category, “provided that it lacks the narcotic active ingredient.”
